With over 18-years of experience in the picture industry, nine as an image media professional, I have been employed in a diverse set of roles and offer my services on a freelance basis.
My experience, having been across both sides of the industry began at a number of prominent picture libraries and more recently has been at a variety of renowned worldwide publishers and magazines publishers.
As a result of this broad knowledge I have also provided consultancy services for a number of specialist BAPLA member picture libraries.

Outline of the services offered
Picture Research - Working with each client to find the right images to fulfil their requirements. These might be specific due to the nature of the publication, intended audience, layout requirements or as a result of budgets. By researching across a wide variety of traditional suppliers as well as harder to access sources I find the best images for every job.
Rights - Clearing Copyright so all requirements are met, predominantly for print but also additional rights such as electronic/eBook, social media and web rights. Other considerations include model & property releases as well as DACS so image licenses work for both the copyright holder and client.
Image Fees - Following image approval and having agreed rights the reproduction fees are negotiated in order to fit within each project budget. I then request invoices to be issued and have Hi Res supplied for final layout.
Photo Editing & Page Layout - A knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite ensures images work perfectly on the page, and when a photograph is not as beautiful as it could be that's when Photoshop comes in to make it the perfect fit.
Commissioning - Liaising and briefing photographers so each photoshoot results in a great selection of images. By ensuring the requirements are met and exceeded, each shoot can include images which are usable beyond the specific project thus providing added value.
Photo Library Consultancy - Working with libraries to maximise their impact in the marketplace. This involves looking at internal processes, instilling best practise and helping them to reengage with lapsed clients, find new ones and most importantly making sure current clients are happy.
